National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination (I) 2013

(Last Date for Submission of Applications: 21.01.2013)

• The Examination will be conducted by the Union Public Service Comission on 14th April, 2013 for admission to Army, Navy, Air Force wings of the NDA for the 131st Course and for the 93rd Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from 02 January, 2014.
• The candidates would undergo 4 years B.Tech. Course at Indian Naval Academy and would be given an opportunity to join Executive and Technical Branches of the navy.
• The number of vacancies to be filled will be 300 (195 for Army, 39 for Navy and 66 for Air Force) at National Defence Academy and 55 (for Naval Academy) giving a total of 355 seats. The vacancies are provisional and may be changed depending on the training capability of the Academy..
• The candidate should specify clearly in the application form the Services for which he wishes to be considered in preference order. Candidates will be considered for appointments to those services only mentioned by them in the application form.
• Admission to the courses will be made on the results of written test followed by intelligence and personality test.
• The candidates should ensure that they fulfil all eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Candidates are required to apply online only by using the website www.upsconline.nic.in Detailed instructions are available on the above mentioned website.
• The online applications can be filled upto 21st January 2013 till 11.59 PM after which the link will be disabled.
• The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admission Certificate three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admission Certificate will be made available on the UPSC website (www.upsconline.gov.in) and no Admission Certificate will be sent by post.
• The UPSC shall prepare a list of candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination to be fixed by the Commission. The shortlisted candidates shall appear before a service Selection board for Intelligence and Personality Test.

Final results: Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2012

UPSC has declared the final results of Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2012 

1. UPSC has shortlisted 248 candidates for the final selection, UPSC conducted the Combined Defence Services Examination (I)‐2012 in February, 2012 and the Services Selection Board of the Ministry of Defence conducted the SSB interviews for admission to the 134th Course of Indian Military Academy, Dehradun; Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and Air Force Academy, Hyderabad (Pre‐Flying) Training Course i.e. 193rd F(P) Course.
2. Note that there are some common candidates in the three lists for various courses.
3. The number of vacancies, as intimated by the Government is 250 for Indian Military Academy [including 32 vacancies reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate (Army Wing) holders], 40 for Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala ‐ [2 for Hydro/38 for Executive General Service including 06 vacancies reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate (Naval Wing) holders] and 32 for Air Force Academy, Hyderabad.
4. The Commission had recommended 6074, 1601 and 630 as qualified in the written test for admission to the Indian Military Academy/ Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy respectively. The number of candidates finally qualified are those after SSB testing conducted by Army Head Quarters.
5. The results of Medical examination have not been taken into account in preparing these lists.
6. Verification of date of birth and educational qualifications of these candidates is still under process by the Army Headquarters. The candidature of all these candidates is, therefore, Provisional on this score. Candidates are requested to forward their certificates, in original, in support of Date of Birth/Educational qualification etc., certificates claimed by them, along with Photostat attested copies thereof to Army Headquarters/Naval Headquarters/Air Headquarters, as per their first choice.
7. In case, there is any change of address, the candidates are advised to promptly intimate directly to the Army Headquarters/Naval Headquarters/Air Headquarters.
8. These results will also be available on the UPSC website at http.//www.upsc.gov.in However, marks of the candidates will be available on the website after completion of its complete process i.e. after declaration of final result of Officers’ Training Academy (OTA) for Combined Defence Services Examination (I)‐2012.

UPSC has rejected 3105 applications for Combined Defence Service Examination (I), 2013 due to non-payment of fee 

Since UPSC has not been received the confirmation from the Bank Authorities regarding receipt of Fees of Rs.200/- in respect of 3105 candidates for CDS Examination (I), 2013 .

In view of the provisions contained in the UPSC’s Notice for the above examination published in the Employment News dated 10-16.11.2012 and uploaded on the UPSC website upsc.gov.in, applications of 3105 candidates for the said examination have been rejected.

Appeal against rejection, if any, may be made along with the documentary evidence by speed post OR by hand only to Shri S.R. Meena, Under Secretary (CDS), Union Public Service Commission, Room No.321,Ayog Sachivalaya Building. Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069. Admit Card: Deputy Central Intelligence Officer/ Technical (Wireless Telegraphy) in Intelligence Bureau

Union Public Service Commission will be conducting a Recruitment Test for recruitment to Deputy Central Intelligence Officer/ Technical (Wireless Telegraphy) in Intelligence Bureau of Ministry of Home Affairs from 10 AM to 12 Noon on 6th January, 2013 (Sunday) all over India. The Commission has uploaded e‐admit cards for the convenience of the candidates on its website http://www.upsc.gov.in. DCIO Admit Card

The reasons/ grounds for rejection of applications have also been uploaded on the website http://www.upsc.gov.in. The candidates are advised to download their e‐admit cards and take print out thereof. The admitted candidates will have to produce the print out of their e‐Admit Cards at the allotted venue for appearing in the Recruitment Test. Candidates are advised to carry two (2) identical photographs to the venue of the Recruitment Test, along with proof of identity such as Voter Identity Card, Passport, Driving Licence, PAN Card or any ID Card issued by a recognized Institution/Government in those cases where photographs are either not available on the e‐Admit Cards or the same are not clearly visible. No paper Admit Card will be issued for this Recruitment Test by the Commission.

The candidates are advised to take print out of e‐admit cards well in advance to avoid last minute rush. In the past, cases have been noticed where some candidates have faced difficulties in accessing the website on the last day on account of server overload.
In case of any discrepancy the same may be communicated to the Commission at the earliest to enable the Commission to take a decision in the matter. In case of any difficulty, the candidates may contact UPSC Facilitation Counter at 011‐23381125, 23385271, 23098543 between 10 AM to 5 PM.

Appropriate Authority for conducting Medical Examination

UPSC has released a notice regarding Appropriate Authority for conducting Medical Examination

UPSC do not conduct medical examination of the written qualified/recommended candidates for any of their examinations. The Authorities who conduct the Medical Examination of written qualified/recommended candidates are the Ministries/Departments of Govt. of India concerned with the respective Examinations.

This means that the respective department or ministries of GOI, is responsible for the medical examination for which the selection has been processed by the UPSC.  Normally, candidates request the UPSC to conduct medical examination. Since, UPSC is commission which holds examination, and selects candidates for the different ministries, and departments of Govt. of India.
