1. CANDIDATES TO ENSURE THEIR ELIGIBILITY FOR THE EXAMINATION: The Candidates
applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all eligibility conditions for
admission to examination. Their admission to all the stages of the examination will be
purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. Mere issue of
admission certificate to the candidate will not imply that his/her candidature has been
finally cleared by the Commission. The Commission takes up verification of eligibility
conditions with reference to original documents only after the candidate has qualified for
Interview/Personality Test.2. HOW TO APPLY:Candidates are required to apply Online by using the websitehttp://www.upsconline.nic.in Detailed instructions for filling up online applications are
available on the above mentioned website. Brief Instructions for filling up the "Online
Application Form" given in Appendix-II.3. LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS :
The online Applications can be filled up to 6th March, 2018 till 6:00 PM. The eligible
candidates shall be issued an e-Admission Certificate three weeks before the
commencement of the examination. The e- Admission Certificate will be made
available in the UPSC website [www.upsc.gov.in] for downloading by candidates. No
Admission Certificate will be sent by post.4. PENALTY FOR WRONG ANSWERS:Candidates should note that there will be penalty (negative marking) for wrong answers
marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.5. FACILITATION COUNTER FOR GUIDANCE OF CANDIDATES:In case of any guidance/information/clarification regarding their applications,
candidature etc. candidates can contact UPSC’s Facilitation Counter near gate ‘C’ of its
campus in person or over Telephone No. 011-23385271/011-23381125/011-23098543 on
working days between 10.00 hrs and 17.00 hrs.7. MOBILE PHONES BANNED:(a) The use of any mobile phone (even in switched off mode), pager or any electronic equipment or
programmable device or storage media like pen drive, smart watches etc. or camera or blue tooth devices
or any other equipment or related accessories either in working or switched off mode capable of being
used as a communication device during the examination is strictly prohibited. Any infringement of
these instructions shall entail disciplinary action including ban from future
examinations.(b) Candidates are advised in their own interest not to bring any of the banned items
including mobile phones/pagers to the venue of the examination, as arrangement for
safe-keeping cannot be assured.
8. Candidates are advised not to bring any valuable/costly items to the Examination Halls, as
safe-keeping of the same cannot be assured. Commission will not be responsible for any loss in
this regard.

As already anticipated by Civil Services aspirants, and the Alagh Committee, UPSC has changed the Civil Services Mains Examination Pattern. Please, Note that Civil Services Pre Examination Syllabus had already been changed since year 2011. 1. Based on the result of the written part  of the Central Industrial Security Force Assistant Commandants (Executive) Limited Departmental Competitive Examination, 2012 held on 05.08.2012 followed by the Personality Test held from 10.12.2012 to 14.12.2012,  a total number of 16 candidates comprising 13-General, 02- Scheduled Caste and  01-Scheduled Tribe candidates are recommended for appointment.

NDA & NA Examination(I) 2013 Notification

National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination (I) 2013

(Last Date for Submission of Applications: 21.01.2013)

• The Examination will be conducted by the Union Public Service Comission on 14th April, 2013 for admission to Army, Navy, Air Force wings of the NDA for the 131st Course and for the 93rd Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from 02 January, 2014.
• The candidates would undergo 4 years B.Tech. Course at Indian Naval Academy and would be given an opportunity to join Executive and Technical Branches of the navy.
• The number of vacancies to be filled will be 300 (195 for Army, 39 for Navy and 66 for Air Force) at National Defence Academy and 55 (for Naval Academy) giving a total of 355 seats. The vacancies are provisional and may be changed depending on the training capability of the Academy..
• The candidate should specify clearly in the application form the Services for which he wishes to be considered in preference order. Candidates will be considered for appointments to those services only mentioned by them in the application form.
• Admission to the courses will be made on the results of written test followed by intelligence and personality test.
• The candidates should ensure that they fulfil all eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Candidates are required to apply online only by using the website www.upsconline.nic.in Detailed instructions are available on the above mentioned website.
• The online applications can be filled upto 21st January 2013 till 11.59 PM after which the link will be disabled.
• The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admission Certificate three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admission Certificate will be made available on the UPSC website (www.upsconline.gov.in) and no Admission Certificate will be sent by post.

Final results: Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2012

UPSC has declared the final results of Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2012 

1. UPSC has shortlisted 248 candidates for the final selection, UPSC conducted the Combined Defence Services Examination (I)‐2012 in February, 2012 and the Services Selection Board of the Ministry of Defence conducted the SSB interviews for admission to the 134th Course of Indian Military Academy, Dehradun; Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and Air Force Academy, Hyderabad (Pre‐Flying) Training Course i.e. 193rd F(P) Course.
2. Note that there are some common candidates in the three lists for various courses.
3. The number of vacancies, as intimated by the Government is 250 for Indian Military Academy [including 32 vacancies reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate (Army Wing) holders], 40 for Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala ‐ [2 for Hydro/38 for Executive General Service including 06 vacancies reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate (Naval Wing) holders] and 32 for Air Force Academy, Hyderabad.
4. The Commission had recommended 6074, 1601 and 630 as qualified in the written test for admission to the Indian Military Academy/ Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy respectively. The number of candidates finally qualified are those after SSB testing conducted by Army Head Quarters.
5. The results of Medical examination have not been taken into account in preparing these lists.
6. Verification of date of birth and educational qualifications of these candidates is still under process by the Army Headquarters. The candidature of all these candidates is, therefore, Provisional on this score. Candidates are requested to forward their certificates, in original, in support of Date of Birth/Educational qualification etc., certificates claimed by them, along with Photostat attested copies thereof to Army Headquarters/Naval Headquarters/Air Headquarters, as per their first choice.
7. In case, there is any change of address, the candidates are advised to promptly intimate directly to the Army Headquarters/Naval Headquarters/Air Headquarters.
8. These results will also be available on the UPSC website at http.//www.upsc.gov.in However, marks of the candidates will be available on the website after completion of its complete process i.e. after declaration of final result of Officers’ Training Academy (OTA) for Combined Defence Services Examination (I)‐2012.

UPSC has declared the final results of Central Industrial Security Force Assistant Commandants (Executive) Limited Departmental Competitive Examination, 2012

• The Central Industrial Security Force Assistant Commandants (Executive) Limited Departmental Competitive Examination, 2012 written examination conducted by UPSC on 05.08.2012 and followed by the Personality Test from 10.12.2012 to 14.12.2012 
• UPSC has recommended a total number of 16 candidates comprising 13-General, 02- Scheduled Caste and 01-Scheduled Tribe candidates for appointment.
• Appointment to the Central Industrial Security Force will be made according to number of vacancies available and due consideration to the provisions contained in the Rules for the examination. The number of vacancies reported by the Central Industrial Security Force for the year 2012 are 16(13-General, 02- Scheduled Caste and 01-Scheduled Tribe).
• Union Public Service Commission has a “Facilitation Counter” near Examination Hall in its campus. Candidates can obtain any information/clarification regarding their examination/recruitment on the working days between 1000 hrs. to 1700 hrs. in person or over Telephone Numbers 011-23385271/23381125. Results will also be available on the Commission’s website http/www.upsc.gov.in. However, marks on the website will be available in due course for a period of thirty days.
